A-list Nollywood actors such as Patience Ozokwo, Desmond Elliot, Uche Jombo and Francis Duru, among others show the stuff they are made of in this new flick titled, I Believe.
The movie which was produced by Oakfil Production in conjunction with National Open University of Nigeria aims at teaching to teach its viewers that age, distance or marriage can no longer be barriers to education in Nigeria.
“I Believe” tells the story of the journey of freedom for Ofure, a 35-year-old woman, in an abusive and suppressive marriage, which strips her of every self-esteem and parades NOUN ambassadors like Kenneth Okonkwo, Chief Chika Okpala aka Zebrudaya, celebrated Kannywood actor and singer, Sani Danja and notable actor Francis Duru.
Through the character of Ofure, the producer captures and highlights the experiences of several other women and men in their journey towards freedom from emotional and psychological slavery.
The Executive Producer of the movie is the recently removed Vice Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Vincent Tenebe.
As regards financing the production, Tenebe said NOUN would have been unable to pay the calibre of professionals assembled in the film, so most of the actors did it as a form of CSR.
“It is their own contribution to the society. If we were to pay them, the film would not be out in the next 10 years. You know what it would have cost the university to pay the directors?” he emphasised.
Aside circulating the film through NOUN study centres nationwide, the producers said plans are underway to translate it into at least, three Nigerian languages.
The highly motivational and impactful movie, is an adaptation of Iwuchukwu’s play, “Enough is Enough,” which was published in 2014.
